The truth is that there is a psychic in every person. The word psychic is a Greek word, which means “of the mind or soul”. Psychic power is synonymous with ‘extrasensory perception’ which simply means the ability to perceive or gain knowledge through senses that are above and/or beyond the five senses of the body: smelling, tasting, touching, hearing and vision. We can even say ‘by way of a sixth sense’ if you will. Though I am personally aware that psychic energy isn’t restricted to just a sixth sense, there are many more senses within man than just six which often go unrecognized and underdeveloped in most people.
Religious people often associate the terms “psychic” and/or “fortuneteller” with evil and demonic activity. Nevertheless, I believe that there is coming a major reconfiguration of the mind within the church and a major paradigm shift from the paranoia and superstitions of the past. I believe that we will begin to look at many things again with renewed minds and we will begin to make new judgments that are founded in faith and love; not the anxieties and fears of the past.
The truth is that there is a clairvoyant within every man. The term ‘clairvoyant’ is Latin for “clear vision”. And just as sure as every living person has breath in his or her body and air flowing in and out of their lungs - vivifying every organ and system, giving animation to this corruptible form - every man has a spirit. And that spirit is a vital part of our human experience. Your spirit is hardwired to not only inspire your soul with ideas and emotions; it is there to communicate to your mind information of a metaphysical or psychic nature. It perceives truths that go unperceived by the natural senses and communicates those realties to the mind.
Psychic reading is not prophecy and a psychic is not a prophet. Many times these concepts are used interchangeably, but this is a serious error. The prophetic is psychic but all psychic is not necessarily prophetic. When we speak in terms of prophetic, we are speaking in particular and specifically of messages that are given by God to be delivered by a medium (one who communicates with the spirit realm). Psychic, in contrast, speaks only of our ability to receive information from the astral plane (spirit world). Psychic is not good or bad. Psychic is just a term that encapsulates the abilities of our human spirit. To be a prophet is a spiritual occupation and it infers holiness and divine commission. While being psychic or spiritual (being conscious and utilizing the abilities of spirit) can be taught to any intelligent and disciplined person. Psychic abilities are subject to the passions and the desires of the individual. The dynamic of spiritual abilities being in the hands of men make psychic reading potentially influenced by deception and evil intentions. This is why I wouldn’t go to some random, so called psychic for a reading.
Just like it wouldn’t be advisable for a person in need of a surgery to attempt to save money by going to some unknown surgeon in a third-world country with questionable credentials and no references, I would advise against anyone going to some random psychic; allowing them to speak into your heart and, in a sense, have surgery on your soul. I’d prefer to eat food from a chef that didn’t wash his hands before I would eat the words of a questionable psychic. I get my words, readings, and fortunes told to me by confirmed and proven prophets who I know are submitted to God.
Not to mention the fact that there are many voices in the spirit realm - some perpetrating this person or that person. Many times those who advertise psychic abilities are in relation with dark and deceiving spirits. An interaction with a psychic is literally intercourse (similar to sexual intercourse) but of the spirit and the soul. Many have left psychic readings with spiritual disease, contaminations and spiritual infections. Some have left with even worse - demonization (demon possession) - and needed exorcism to gain control of their lives and minds again. It can be dangerous to journey with your spirit in the astral plane without proper supervision from a coach, prophet, or spiritual leader in the church who is mature and who has honed their prophetic abilities.
Jesus not only revealed the secrets of death (abolishing the mystery and bringing into manifestation the concept of immortality), He also shined the light on the spiritual realities within man. But not only that! Through His sacrificial atoning work on the cross, He removed any enmity between God and man; bringing us into relationship with the architect and designer of the universe - our creator; the father of spirits.
It really is an awesome thing to be awakened to the whole of creation and the realm of immaterial substances and realities. I use my psychic abilities every day. In the church, it is called spiritual discernment, but, in truth, it is the same extrasensory perception. The only difference between a true Christian psychic and one who doesn’t know Christ is not in the ability, but in the source. Abilities come with practice and discipline. My abilities are subject to my master. God is my master and God is love. My abilities are generated and sourced from a love for the world and from a devotion to the edification of mankind. Many don’t have this simplicity and are motivated by financial gain and sex, but most of all power (manipulation, intimidation, domination, fear and control). Spiritual sins are graver than natural sins. Because of the greater power, there is greater responsibility. Self-serving psychic use (especially when it involves controlling people) is witchcraft. Beware. Witchcraft will reap for you the judgment of heaven! There are laws on the astral plane. That is why a guide is desirable.
I speak to God who is the father of our spirits everyday. And He speaks to me through my awakened spirit everyday. It is a blessed experience, indeed. I wish every man knew the splendor of the spirit world and the psychic gift that has lain dormant within us for so long. When you are in relationship with God, He will begin to teach you in regard to your psychic potential. God is spirit and the way in which we communicate with Him is through our spirits. Not only can we communicate with God, but also we speak with angels and the spirits of the saints that now live in glory.
Even in those who walk in and utilize a measure of the psychic powers of their spirit, there is still much more that we can be walking in, more to learn, and a long way to go. We must pursue our psychic potential; bringing our minds and spirits into shape as they can and should be exercised daily. But most of all, seek God! He will not withhold any good thing from us. He desires for you to be awakened in your spirit and realize your full potential. It is extremely important that you find a place of spiritual learning where there are good people who will help you with your spiritual goals. If there isn’t a place near you… MOVE! You are worth it.
